Time for a Break

Well, it's time for a break, Mom says.
We'll be back eventually.

Keep your hoomins hopping, furriends!

The War Continues

Furriends, the War on Fleas is not going as well as we'd hoped. Our initial strategy was progressing very nicely, but the enemy regrouped and struck back. So now we've entered the trenches to duke it out.

Mom is determined that we will emerge victorious, so she's been adding to our arsenal with daily vaccuming, mopping of hard floors, flea combing multiple times every day. She's stripped our house of as many hiding/laying egg places as possible: pillows, drapes, heavy bedding. Anywhere and everywhere the nasty buggers can hide, we're hitting them.

Wanna hang out in a crevice? No problem! She's got cleaning attachments for that. Entrenching your bitey little butts in the furry blankie? Just try it. It's being washed and tucked away in plastic till this is over.

We do draw the line at chemical warfare, except for Advantage. Mom gets the heebie jeebies over chemicals. She's so worried we might get poisoned or something.

PS: We're sending out very strong purrayers for Ginger and family. He has some medical issues.

My Special Box

Looky! Here I am modeling my very favorite-st, special box. Mom says it's a "shoebox". Whatever they call it, I really luff it.

Maru would be proud!

PS: Mom, don't skimp on the good boxes next time ok? I need more shoeboxes!

Two for Tuesday

Here we are, being all warm and snuggly together. But don't let this pic fool ya - I, Toby, prefer my space and usually make the Gray Lady go away. This time, I just wanted to sleep, so I was gracious and let her stay. Mom gave us this warmer blankie since the weather is getting cooler.

We want to welcome the newest mancat of the Blogosphere - Master Ginger!

Finally Friday

Mom is, as always, very happy that today is Friday. For us, every day is Caturday.

The War on Fleas continues. We're winning!! Mom gets after us constantly with the flea comb now, checking and rechecking for those nasty buggers. I liked the comb right away, but Leia needed time to get used to it. This morning she was really into it. Except for her little head. She doesn't like the comb on her head.

May all of you have a pawsome weekend - and be always free of fleas!

The Play Title

"No Sex Please, We're British".

Mom saw it at a community theatre years back.
It's a comedy about very upright people
mistakenly receiving material they hadn't ordered...

Anyway, in spite of the title,
it really isn't risque.

No Fleas, Please, We're Kittehs! **

"If Fleas Had Feelings"

Could it really be?
Mused the flea,
That I'm not entirely liked?
It's with some despair,
That I roam this hair,
With my interest quite clearly spiked.

I can run, I can jump,
Over mighty high bumps,
But this really is bothering me.
I'm nice most of the time.
I mean, is that a crime?
So why are they harrasing me?

Even the cat,
Where we live in our flat,
Doesn't tell us to leave right away.
But then maybe because,
He can't talk he just does,
Tolerate us through the day.

How nice to be loved,
By those up above,
And maybe here's what I should do.
Jump up on her leg,
And then pleadingly beg,
Before she hits me, head on, with her shoe.

Well here goes I guess,
I can't be liked less,
Jump up and I'm free of the cat.
She's seen me I'm sure,
As she stares at the floor,
"Hello Person, I've just come to"...SPLAT!

Well, we've been treated for fleas at lunch today. Never high on our Happy List, but it's a lot better than getting the bitey from those nasty little things.

**Mom ripped off our title from a play title. Anyone know it? :)
